Introducing Baby Rivero!

It's confirmed!! We are having a baby. Here's the time line of events:

4/15-I tested positive on one of those sticks that give you 2 lines. Robert said didn't believe it because the second line was very faint.

4/16- I bought a digital test and showed Robert the test that said "pregnant" he finally believed it!

4/21 - Went to Kaiser to do another urine test
(arghh $15). This line was very faint too but we were congratulated by hospital staff! Yay we are pregnant! According to my last period the due date was 11/30/2010.

4/30- Ultrasounds. I first started with the transducer on my abdomen and only a sac was detected. The nurse assured us everything was ok but we were very worried. She quickly switch to the "probe" and the baby was found!! The reason why we couldn't see it the other way was because I was not as far along as originally thought. Based on measurements of the baby I was 5 weeks 6 days pregnant! OMG, Robert and I had our breath taken away by a small flicker on the ultrasound screen! The baby's heart beat was 106 beats per minute. That machine is amazing...

  1. I saw you first! I was crossing both of my fingers when they but that thing-ama-jig on your mommy's tummy. The nurse didn't see anything and I was worried. On the second try you were this little pouch and I wondered to myself if that was you. How come it didn't look like in the movies? Then the nurse said you were only five weeks old and you were there. She pointed to this tiny flickering thing and it was your heart!!! I can't explain how I felt, but one day you will understand the moment you become a parent. You are by far the coolest thing I have ever created.
